Hey, NOLA Darling!

Up at 830, out by 10, Two hours sitting in traffic! WTFFFFF lol! As you can see, I may have a bit of road rage! It's 11 am in Atalanta...AND. THERE. IS.TRAFFIC. WHY yall ain't at work? Traffic crept at a pace of about 1/2 mile per 20 min. Or at least it felt like that! Today was pretty much a drive-all-day type of day! I spent 7 hours in traffic! I took in the sights of the fantastic rest stops along the way, lol. As I made my way through the traffic, yall know those trucks that haul cars? Yea, those. I remember thinking on many occasions that I would somehow be the misfortunate soul to land on the wrong end of a highway car throwing battle, lol!

Once I arrived, I had dinner with my cousin at this fantastic place called NOLA Southern Grill. It was delicious. I ordered the Zydeco Shimp as an appetizer and the Taste of Nola as my main course. The Zydeco Shrimp was a healthy portion of lightly fried shrimp tossed in a tangy sauce place on a bed of lettuce, with a lemon wedge on the side. The Taste of Nola was precisely that. It was Jumbalaya, Shimp Etoufee', and Red Beans and rice. NOTE: If you ever visit this eatery and order this dish, request it to be less salty! It was served separately on a platter with a piece of aged toast, which complemented the dish well. The Jambalaya was a tad dry for my taste but still delicious; everything tasted smoked to perfection. The Shrimp Etoufee' was creamy yet filling, and the flavors blended exquisitely together. The red bean and rice, this one was the wild card for me, because, usually, I'm not too fond of it. I have the rule to try new things and then make a decision. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It was creamy and flavorful with well-mixed ingredients! It was like a tasty tongue party, lol! After dinner, my cousin took me around the city to see some pretty cool places, and then we headed back home.

The next day is where the fun came in. I headed into the city to get some pictures and see if I could find some places to eat. I spent 30 minutes trying to find a park, but finally did! Idk. Am I the only person that will drive past an empty parking garage to find an open space to park? Once I did find a seemingly decent place to park, I downloaded this "Find my Car" app so that I wouldn't get lost, lol! I don't know about yall, but sometimes my sense of direction is way off! I paid my fee and started exploring! The closer I got to the action, the more the smell of King Tequila and Queen Mary Jane permeated the streets. It was marvelous how lively the streets were on a Friday afternoon! I Saw this badass WOMAN bass Saxophonist, and I watched people enjoy the music, dance in the streets, and have wholesome fun! It was a refreshing sight. I continued my walk, and a little way down, this gracious gentleman blew a kiss at me..YUCK! On my return walk, another ever so kind fellow honked his horn, pointed and screamed for my attention, and made a phone gesture with his hand, my, so wonderful!

After about 3 hours, my tummy told me I was hungry, so my search began. I landed at this place called Saints and Sinners; what an appropriate name, and If you are familiar with Mr. Channing Tatum, yep, that one, He owns this restaurant! I ordered the gumbo and shrimp. The gumbo was creamy, with a slight kick. The chicken and sausage were cooked perfectly! I was expecting a larger portion for the price, but it was filling non-the-less. The shrimp was deep fried to crunchy perfection, with a sauce drizzled on top that complemented it quite well. Again, I was expecting more for the price, but regardless it was good.

Guys, I am a massive fan of customer service, and I think that it should be top list excellent at all times. Saints and Sinners do not! The service was awful. I didn't get a menu when I sat down, and no one came to check on me, and the server was relatively short in his responses. Now, before you go there, they were not busy. It was me and one other couple inside at the time. Overall, I did not enjoy my experience here, but NOLA, my darling, you were GREAT!

Once I found my way back to my car, I headed back to my cousin's house, turned in for the night, and started a new Netflix show! I am beyond grateful for having experienced Mother Nature and all her wonder. I am thankful for the peace I found and the plans I forged. Never forget that sometimes to focus, you have to take a step back, be selfish and treat yourself!
