Lifeโ€™s A Sunrise

Hey guys, Welcome to day 6, It's been a wild ride, but it's not quite over yet, so hang on! ๐Ÿ˜ I don't know what lesson I needed to learn, but I ran into the SAME guy from yesterday, ya' know, the "are you here alone" Guy! He didn't remember me, which was fine, but when he asked if I was here with friends, I immediately said, โ€œYES, they just didn't want to get up as early as me.โ€ Lesson learned ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพAgain, he decided to try to strike up a conversation, but again it was 6 in the morning, and all I wanted to do was watch the sunrise. I guess he got the hint and left. PRAISE THE LAWD!!!๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

After that, I headed to get breakfast at The Coffee Fox and had a breakfast sandwich and a blueberry kolache. I have never heard of a kolache, but it was in the shape of a danish and had the same aspects like bread/pastry, then a layer of cream cheese at the bottom and blueberries on top. The only difference is that the โ€œpastryโ€ part was that of a bun or a roll. Both were pretty delicious, but I should have eaten the kolache when I bought it instead of later.

After breakfast, I headed over to the Locomotive museum and saw some older train cars and taxis. It was pretty cool. However, the cashier guy asked me if I wanted a guided tour, and I said no because I like to go at my own pace when I go to museums, but when I started walking around, I noticed on the map that there are places that you could not go into without a guide. That kind of upset me, dude; I paid to see everything; why didn't you say to get the guided tour!๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ From there, I walked back to my car and went to the Maritime Museum, and saw some model ships. It was pretty amazing! The ship's level of detail was incredible, from the structure to the passengers and crew to the cargo. After that, I headed to the Air Museum, and when I walked in, there was a lot of military stuff, which was fine. However, when I got deeper into the museum, items revolved around Hitler and nazi artifacts. Of course, it was weird, but it was still interesting to look at the artifacts. Again I was the only black person there, except for the one other black lady I saw when I pulled up; she was sitting outside. I went through the museum and saw some actual planes used in war and models of different historical events. However, after a while, it got mentally exhausting being there, so I had to make my way towards the exit.๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

Leaving there, I went to the Savannah African Art Museum. I arrived shortly after the guided tour started, but I was placed into the group anyway. It was a couple of Russian ladies, and the tour guide was a middle-aged white guy. Like I stated earlier, I'm not too fond of guided tours, and unfortunately, this museum has required guided tours. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธThe museum was split into West Africa and Central Africa. Both of those were supposed to take an hour to get through ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ.JESUS, TAKE THE WHEEL!! All I wanted was to walk around and see the art, THATโ€™S IT!! But unfortunately, I was required to endure the tour. Now, don't get me wrong, if guided tours are your thing, this would have been great for you because The guy was nice and all and very well-versed in the material; he just talked WAAAYYY too much for my liking. My philosophy is, let me walk around, and if I have questions, I will ask. The middle-aged dude was the guide for West Africa, and I had another guide for Central Africa. That one was SOOOO much better; she allowed me to walk around and ask questions if I had them, and she pointed out a few pieces that she found interesting. THANK YOU, MAโ€™AM!!๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ While going through the tour, I found it odd that in an AFRICAN ART museum, there was not ONE African/Black person there! Not as a tour guide OR even a receptionist. It blew my mind!! Maybe they just weren't there when I was there. I'm hoping that's the case.

Leaving the museum, I headed over to Savannah Seafood and got some much-needed fresh seafood. It was DELICIOUS!!! However, it required a smidgen more seasoning. I had fried oysters for the first time, and they were damn good, my friends. ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค After getting my seafood, I decided to try out Leopold Ice Cream since there was a line out the door on my way to get seafood. Thankfully when I got there, the line was a lot shorter, and I didn't have to wait for long. I ended up getting a scope of Peanut Butter Chippy and another one with cookies. In my opinion, it was OVERRATED!! The ice cream base on the one with cookies had no flavor, the only thing giving it the flavor was the cookies, and the other, you can only taste peanut butter ( which goes without saying) but nothing else. It was a letdown, but at least I gave it a try. After that, I headed back to Tybee, and on my way, I thought about how I had not received any form of instructions regarding check out. Hence, I decided to reach out to the host to see any special instructions that I needed to take care of before leaving. Unfortunately, they did not get back to me, so I just did what I thought would be the best thing from my previous stays at Airbnb's. Other than that, I ended my day with another beautiful sunset.

Thanks for joining me for day 6, and be sure to stay tuned for the final day to come!! So until next time, friends, Later days!!- The Weekenders!! Lady Dee, OUT โœŒ๐Ÿพ
