On This Day In History!

Hey guys, Welcome back to day 4 of my Savannah Trip 😁. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!......to me πŸ˜„πŸ˜„ WOOT WOOT!! One time for the birthday bish, Two times for the birthday bish, eff it up if it's ya birthday bish!!! πŸ˜†πŸ˜† Anyway, my day started pretty early, and I got up at 5 am because I wanted to start my day watching the sunrise at the beach. That was the most BEAUTIFUL thing ever!!! I am a water person, so the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore while watching the sunrise plus the cold weather = paradise for me. The view was almost enough for me to pick up and move. I was so close!! But once the sun had risen, I walked to a place called the Sunrise cafe. There I had a chicken omelet with grits and a bagel. It was pretty darn delicious! The omelet had spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and of course, chicken and cheese. The bagel was warm and toasted beautifully and with cream cheese, WHEW CHILE, YUMMY!!πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ I didn't finish everything because I didn't want to feel sluggish while walking around town, and I didn't take leftovers, very unlike me πŸ˜†.

After leaving the cafe, I headed towards river street, where I booked myself a carriage tour. Similar to the Old Town Savannah tour, just not as many stops and a lot smaller. It was the first time I had ever gone on a carriage ride, so it was pretty cool! When I started, it seemed that I would be on the ride alone, which, at the time, I thought would be fine. However, three middle-aged ladies joined me. So once again, I was the only Black person on said tour. πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ However, as the tour progressed, I was glad they were there. See, I'm not much of a talker (in real life), so when the tour guide asked questions or tried to strike up a conversation, I kept quiet, and the other ladies engaged with them. So they ended up saving me. Crazy bruh!!. I need to learn how to talk to people.πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯ While on tour, the guide advised us that a program was set up for the homeless people in the city, where they were fed three meals a day. So when I heard that, I was even more behooved by that guy calling me out of my name. Like dude, you're getting three meals a day. All you need to do now is find a job so you can put some roof over your head. There were literally "We're Hiring" signs everywhere you looked. I know that finding a job is far from easy, and that's speaking from experience, but it's not impossible if you want it. After the tour ended, I walked down to river street and checked out some more stores that I missed on Monday. I started at the T-shirt shop to pick up some more souvenirs for the family. I found this shirt that said, "Don't be a salty Bitch” HILARIOUS!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

After that, I headed to the candy store from Monday and got a copious amount of sweets as souvenirs and for me πŸ˜†. After picking up my prescription of diabetes from the candy store, I went on a Riverboat cruise. I sat at the very top, which was open, and the view was MAGNIFICENT!!!πŸ₯°πŸ₯°. However, the weather was not my friend today. I was wearing all black, right down to the shoes, so when I was sitting at the top, I could feel myself baking at 375. Once the boat started moving, the wind picked up, and it was a little more bearable. During the ride, the people that ended up sitting behind me were EXTREMELY annoying and rude 😠😠. I overheard them say they were from Michigan, and it made me wonder if all people from up north are rude and annoying πŸ€”πŸ€”, considering I have some co-workers from up north, and they are pretty much the same way. However, the tour was pretty awesome all in all, and the tour guide was funny. He was pointing out a mound of what looked like sand or wood chippings from a distance, and he said that is where we make the world's most precious metal, Vibranium πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ , and I laughed. He saw me laugh and pointed at me, saying, "She got it, Wakanda Forever" It was pretty funny, and he appeared to be pretty cute too. 😏😏

After the cruise, I sat on the river because the tour guide had informed us that a freighter would be coming down the river soon, and I wanted to see it up close. IT WAS GINORMOUS, well, obviously, but seeing something like that up close was just incredible to me, and I didn't see just one. I saw TWO!! After seeing the freighters, I realized that I was hungry and decided to get some Greek food. So I ended up at a restaurant called the Olympia cafe. I'm not going to lie, the meat looked a little sketch, but it tasted pretty good. It was nowhere near as good as the Jerusalem Bakery that I had in Atlanta, but pretty decent eats.

After eating, I continued down River street and ended up in the newer section of River street. The architecture was completely different than the opposite end of the road. Not as much traffic from people, but that was okay with me 😊 I went into a boutique called Urban Poppy, a flower shop that also had toiletries, teas, bags, etc. When I tell you, it was beautiful in that store, everything from the decorations to the products to the smell. It was all IMMACULATE!! I ended up buying some tea and a fancy lollipop that had a flower inside 😊. With the bag, they even give you a ribbon and a fresh sprig of eucalyptus leaf 😌😌.HEAVEN!! The store clerk informed me that there was a MUSEUM in the LOBBY of the hotel next store!

A free museum? On my way. So I scurried my way over there to check it out, and it was AMAZEBALLS. When you walk in, there is a giant crystal (I think that's what they're called) and paintings. As you continue inside, there were even more crystals along the walls, and the lobby opened up to this massive area with a metal dinosaur skeleton hanging from the ceiling!. There were actual fossils of wooly mammoth tusks and a bare skeleton (I believe a prehistoric one). Also, there were little kiosks/shops that sold expensive knick-knacks, so I didn't even go into them. I just looked in from the outside😊 What blew my mind was that it was the lobby of a hotel and not a museum on its own. The hotel, if I remember correctly, was a Marriott hotel. Rich folks, I tells ya.' πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

After leaving the AWESOME hotel, I was told on one of my tours that there was a café where 90% of the employees had down syndrome, so I wanted to check it out. It's called Bitty & Beaus Café, and it was extremely chill, which I mean most cafes are, but this one was even more chill, and it was pretty awesome! I got a cookies-and-crème frappe. It was sickeningly sweet for me but tasted oh so goodπŸ˜„. Leaving there, I passed by a shop that I saw some black tumblers, and I wanted to check them out, but when I went in, there were shirts and posters about guns and American flag statements (you get where I'm going). So I busted a smooth u-turn right on out of that store. So after leaving, it was time for me to get some dinner, so I decided to go to a ramen place called YATAI. Let me tell you, my inner Otaku screamed!! There was anime on the walls and playing on the tvs. EVERYWHERE!! They had actual ramen and pork buns, Takoyaki, etc. eeeeeeeeee…I was in HEAVEN!!😍😍 I took it to go because I wanted to make it back to see the sunset at the beach. Thankfully I made it back and saw a fantastic sunset. I ended up changing into one of the t-shirts I bought, and it ALREADY had a hole in it πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ this is what I get for buying an $8 shirt. After that, I went back to the Airbnb and had my DELICIOUS Japanese food and ended my birthday with a Korean mango beer. CHEERS!!  Thanks for joining me for day 4, and be sure to stay tuned for the adventures to come!! So until next time, Stay Classy San Diego- Ron Burgundy, Anchorman!! Lady Dee, OUT ✌🏾
