Got Doubts? Listen Up!
Hey guys, and welcome back to Monday! Have you had doubts lately? Doubts about your abilities? Your life? Your choices? Any and Everything! Well, I have news for you, me too! From the beginning, I wanted this blog to be a different type of motivation. I have often heard speakers that roo haha and say, you can do it and all that jazz, but they hardly share their struggles with you. Now granted, my degree of transparency is controlled by what I choose to share with you all, but I still believe it is important to know that doubts and confusion are sometimes part of life.
I think it's better when you know you aren't alone in that confusion. Here is my story, about four months ago, I decided to start a non-profit, "The Fountain City Difference Project Inc," with the mission of "Empowering youth, with choices." The idea came from the crime that plagues my hometown. As of lately, I hear DAILY from friends and family members that this person got shot, was murdered, robbed, killed, gunned down, etc. Too often following, I hear their name was so and so, you know them, don't you? On many occasions, I know them through others, or we have been in the same room. In one instance, the so and so was my cousin!
YEA, challenging times! But, going back to my doubts, I started the non-profit with that goal in mind and was thrilled about it, which happens to me most of the time I start something! I get extremely excited and realize it's much more complicated than I planned for, and I get discouraged because things don't go according to my plan! Are you a planner too? Are you an A through Z planner or an A through ZZ planner? I am the latter, and I do my best to develop any possible scenario and a response. YEP I know, insane, right! My Life Coach is helping me work through those roadblocks and develop good ways to conquer those unrealistic expectations!
Side note, if you are in the market for a LIFE COACH, not a therapist, then check out TrulyCoach they are phenomenal! Lately, I have been doubting whether or not I am worthy of success if everything I am doing is just one big hamster wheel. I constantly battle with not doing enough, saying I'm not working hard enough, and therefore causing myself undue stress. Sound familiar? I think that I am rapidly running myself to the grave! And that's NOT ok! I push myself to my breaking point repeatedly, and my body feels the impact!
Vulnerable Moment:
I doubt if I am good enough to reap the benefits, strong enough to stay the course, smart enough to figure it out, or even doing the right thing for the right reasons!
I watched Chicago Med on Netflix one day. If you are a Chicago Med fan, comment below!! Dr. Charles said something that resonated with me "Here's an observation. It's often the people who are the very best at what they do who feel the most inadequate". When I heard that, I felt like he was talking to me, and I immediately dismissed it and went right back to doubting my abilities. I shared that with you to say this. We are capable, we are able, we are worthy, and we CAN do it! It WILL get difficult, and there may be days or weeks that we feel that the goal just won't be met. Although my assurances are shaky, sometimes I do still have faith that God holds the key! Share with me what you have doubted lately? How can we help? Let's talk through it together!
