Humble Beginnings: Stacey Abrams was born December 9th, 1973 (Ohhh Snapp another Sagittarius in the building) In Gulfport Mississippi. Born to father, Robert Abrams, who worked in a shipyard and mother Carolyn Abrams, who was a librarian. Up until they relocated to Georgia, Stacey did not take anything for granted! Her parents instilled in their children three “golden rules” if you will, go to school, go to church, and take care of each other! She has five siblings, one of which, Leslie Abrams Gardner, is a Federal Court Judge!! Whew LAWD that #BlackGirlMagic is drippinnnnn!! Now, Queen Stacey did not come from money, she stated in an article that her family often times struggled to stay above the poverty line and there were times when they had to manage without lights or running water! But, she made it!! Upon moving to GA, her parents sought out the ministry, both attending Emory University, receiving degrees in Divinity and becoming ministers. Stacey attended Avondale High school in DeKalb County GA before moving on to college!!
“To achieve our goals of educating bold and ambitious children, we must invest in enriching, quality early child care and learning”-Stacey Abrams

In 2010 she became the first woman to lead either party in the Georgia General Assembly and the first Black woman to lead in the House of Representatives!!! Hollaaaaa
Today: She is endorsed by Mr. 44 himself…
"In a time when too many folks are focused simply on how to win an election, Stacey’s somebody who cares about something more important: why we should. That’s the kind of politics we should practice. That’s why I’m proud to give Stacey Abrams my support.”
-Barack Obama
She is making history left and right! In 2018 she became the FIRST Black Female nominee for Governor of Georgia!! She is credited by The New York Times and The Washington Post for having boosted democratic votes in Georgia leading to the win of President Joseph Biden! Her Philanthropic work continues. She has met with both families and small business across the nation and has successfully cultivated relationships amongst each! She is a proud Friend of Labor award recipient and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, for life!!!

Thank you Ms. Abrams for showing me that you don’t have to come from money to make a difference or to be successful! Thank you for showing me that I CAN make it, if I want it bad enough! I salute you and pray that I can make you proud!
“First things first' might be a cliche, but it's a useful one that means prioritizing what matters most to you and believing there is no wrong answer. When it comes to figuring this out for yourself, the careful binary of work or life entirely misses the point.”-Stacey Abrams
